New course and event accreditation process

The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) has successfully supported third party organisations in publicising their events for many years and thus enabled the sharing of valuable knowledge and the creation of extensive networks. Thank you for your part in this.

To grow our work in this area, we are implementing a new accreditation process for courses and events in the field of dermatology. This process is replacing our current co-badging system and will be facilitated by the BCD (British College of Dermatology) the educational arm of the British Association of Dermatologists.

The BCD accredits a comprehensive range of high-quality educational resources for consultants, trainees, SAS doctors, medical students and the wider healthcare community. Our aim is to develop the dermatology workforce, ultimately to benefit patient care.

By recognising our logo, dermatologists and other healthcare professionals can be confident that the resource has been independently assessed to ensure a consistent and high-quality standard, aligned to recognised curricula where possible.

Our new accreditation process offers:

  • Educational quality assurance
  • External governance through review of your feedback metrics
  • Promotion of your course or event on our website via our events calendar
  • Use of the BCD logo on approved materials
  • Opportunity to contribute a review article in Clinical and Experimental Dermatology (CED) Journal.

We look forward to assisting you with your accreditation and continuing to work with you to provide high-quality dermatology education.
